Takagi T-H2

The Energy Star rated Takagi T-H2 Tankless Water Heater is a second-generation high-efficiency tankless water heater which uses two heat exchangers. Most tankless units use one heat exchanger. The primary heat exchanger is constructed of a heat-resistant copper.

Prior to leaving the heater, waste heat is recovered from the low-emmission ventilation stack and used to preheat the incoming grown water. This is accomplished via a high-corrosion-resistant stainless steel secondary heat exchanger.

Built-in safety features include an Air-Fuel Ratio (AFR) sensor, Exhaust & Water Temperature Safety Control and Overheat Cutoff Fuse. It also has an Internal Freeze-Protection System.

Featuring direct ventilation which can be horizontal or vertical, the Takagi T-H2 operates on natural gas or liquid propane (LP). PVC pipe can be used to vent the unit which saves money over stainless steel.

The Takagi T-H2 Tankless Water Heater uses an electric ignition and has a variable gas input ranging from 13,000 to 199,000 BTU per hour. Thermal efficiency is rated at 93.1% with natural gas and 94.7% with LP.

As a result of the Takagi's high efficiency, the T-H2 is capable of delivering up to nine gallons of hot water per minute under ideal conditions.

The unit has a low-activating flow rate of 0.5 GPM. Water pressure should be set to 40-150 psi for optimal results.

To meet the needs of large homes, radiant floor heating systems, and light commercial/industrial applications, four Takagi T-H2 units can be Easy-Linked to increase output capability to as much as 36 gallons per minute (GPM).

With the ability to produce water up to 185 degrees Farenheit, the Takagi T-H2 is capable of meeting the code requirements for sanitary applications which require temperatures of 180 degrees Farenheit or more.

For added flexibility, there are sixteen preset temperatures as well as built-in temperature, flow rate,
and diagnostic displays.

The Takagi T-H2 solves the long-standing problem that occurs when the shower is running and another appliance is started. At least three showers worth of water can be provided while another appliance is operating.

A tax credit (US) of 30% (up to $1,500) is available on this unit.
