Whether a homeowner is looking to remodel or add capacity to an existing system, the Takagi T-K3-SP tankless water heater is a perfect option. It has been specifically engineered to be a cost effective and convenient upgrade to an existing system. Moreover, the T-K3-SP offers the homeowner additional capacity in a easy to install package.

The T-K3-SP is offered in either natural gas or LP versions, with a maximum energy input of 190,000 BTU at an average efficiency of 82%. This is capable of producing a temperature rise of 40°F at 7.0 gpm. This is derated to a temperature rise of 140°F at 2.2 gpm. The heater can handle input water pressures between 15 and 150 psi. Ignition is powered by a conventional 120V house outlet.

The heater utilizes 3/4” NPT fittings for both gas and water, and requires a 4" category III stainless steel exhaust piping. The exhaust can either be installed horizontally or vertically, as the heater features a powered vent system. Minimum flow rate required for activation is 0.5 gpm, but once ignition takes place, only 0.4 gpm is required for continued operation.

The heater comes from the factory with 4 choices for output temperature, with 122°F preset as default. With an optional remote temperature control, 16 setpoints can be utilized. The remote can be placed up to 150 ft. away using 18 AWG control wiring. An optional recess box will allow the T-K3-SP to be flush mounted in between existing wall studs on 16" centers.

Safety features include built in freeze protection, a manual reset high limit switch, constant inlet and outlet temperature monitoring, as well as a flame sensor.
